No. 119 <br /> <br />'I <br />I <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 state Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />November 1, 1978 <br /> <br />R E SOL U T L 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a report entitled "Flood Insurance Study, city <br />of Thornton, Colorado," which includes floodplain information,and <br />data for Basin 4100, Brantner Gulch, and Northfield Creek (Hoffman <br />drainageway), dated December, 1977, has been prepared by,Gingery <br />Associates, Inc., under contract with the Federal Insurance <br />Administration; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels <br />or basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the city of Thornton has requested the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain <br />areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in <br />the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and ' <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 3l-23~20l and 30-28-111, Colorado <br />Revised Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or <br />along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after <br />designation and approval by the colorado Water Conservation BOard; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, section 37-60-106(1) (c), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and <br />approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to make <br />such designations available to legislative bodies of lOcal jurisdic- <br />tions; and ' . <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report <br />and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />that the Board designate and apprOve as floodplain areas those areas <br />inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) as <br />described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in said <br />report; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board in regular meeting assembled in Denver, Colorado, <br />this 1st day of November, 1978, that it does hereby designate and <br />approve as floodplain areas those areas described as being inundated <br />by a IOO-year flood as described by the floodwater surface eleva- <br />tions and profiles in said report; and <br />
