<br />Chapter 4 Example Application <br /> <br />Starting a New Project <br /> <br />To begin this example, let's fIrst start the HEC-RAS program. Double click <br />the HEC-RAS icon in Windows. The main window should appear as shown <br />in Figure 4.1 (except yours will be blank the first time you start the program). <br /> <br /> <br />Figure 4.1 HEC-RAS Main Window <br /> <br />The first step in developing an HEC-RAS application is to start a new project. <br />Go to the File menu on the main window and select New Project. The New <br />Project window should appear as shown in Figure 4.2 (except the title and file <br />name fields will be blank when it first comes up). <br /> <br /> <br />Figure 4.2 New Project Window <br /> <br />First set the drive (e.g. C:) and the directory that you would like to work in. <br />Next enter the project title and fIlename as shown in Figure 4.2. Once you <br />have entered the information, press the OK button to have the data accepted. <br /> <br />4-2 <br />
