WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled "Flood
Plain Information, Breckenridge, Colorado, Part I - Blue River, and
Part II - French, Illinois, Lehman and Sawmill Gulches," dated 1975,
has been prepared by Leonard Rice Consulting Water Engineers, Inc.,
at the request of the town of Breckenridge and the Colorado Water
Conservation Board; and

WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain
data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels or
basins of the study area; and '

WHEREAS, the town of Breckenridge has requested the Colorado
Water Conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain areas
as set forth in the aforesaid report; and

WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes
1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in the
prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and

WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised
Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local juris-
dictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along any
storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after designation and
approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and

WHEREAS, Sect,ion 37-60-106(1) (c), Colorado Revised Statutes
1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and
approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to make such
designations available to legislative bodies of local jurisdictions;
and

WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report and
,does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board that
said Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those areas
inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) as.des-
cribed by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in said
report;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water Conser-
vationBoard in regular meeting assembled.in Denver, Colorado,this
14th day of January, 1976 that it does hereby designate and approve as
floodplain areas those areas described as being inundated by a 100-year
flood as set forth in said report; and
