The report contains information on histor-

ical floods in the study reach, existing basin and channel parameters

influencing the flood hazard, and information related to the 10-, 50-,

100- and SOD-year frequency floods.

The report presents flooded area maps delineating the extent

of the 100-year flood, water surface profiles, and typical floodplain

cross sections showing the water surface elevations for the 10-, 50-,

100-, and SOD-year floods. Supplemental information depicting the

backup data and calculations for the hydrologic and hydraulic analysis

are presented in the Technical Addendum. This information is useful for

planning, designing and implementing land use activities within the

study area.

Acknowledgments

We wish to acknowledge the assistance and cooperation of the

agencies, firms, organizations and individuals listed on the following

page. Many city and county officials and private citizens provided much

information that was essential to the understanding of the flooding

problems in the study area. The efforts of all those who contributed to

this study are appreciated.

lIThe terms "Intermediate Regional Flood", "100-Year frequency flood" and
"one percent chance flood" can be used interchangeably as they are de-
fined by the same type of flood event (See Glossary). However, for
consistency, the term "100-year flood" will be used exclusively through-
out this report.

5

r',

,-
