Overland flooding damaged residental and commercial <br />properties, public utilities and facilities, and City streets. City <br />requested assistance from Army Corps of Engineers. Project was <br />completed prior to the arrival of ACoE which later informed the <br />City that funds would not be available for measures taken prior to <br />their arrival. The 5 day wait for ACoE assistance would have been <br />very difficult and costly. City had to act immediately on the dike <br />construction. <br /> <br />County has $1,072,816 available in property tax revenue annually <br />for general government, and road and bridge.
