I

I

I

10. HYDRAULIC DESIGN OF DROP STRUCTURES

I

client(s): Matrix Engineers, Inc.

Drop structures were designed to reduce the slope and flow velocity of

Comanche Creek near Strasburg, Colorado. The structures were designed to

provide a controlled hydraulic jump for discharges up to 15000 cfs. Items

analyzed were potential channel erosion, revetment protection, hydrostatic

uplift pressures, and hydraulic jump characteristics.

I

I

I

11. WELD COUNTY BRIDGE HYDRAULIC DESIGN

Client(s): Matrix Engineers, Inc.

I

WRC provided hydrologic and hydraulic analyses necessary to design a new

bridge for Weld County Road 27 crossing of the Cache la Poudre River, Back-

water analysis was performed for a number of bridge lengths and clearance to

choose the proper bridge size. pier scour, channel stability, and revetment

protection were analyzed.

I

I

12, DRAINAGE STUDIES AND FORMULATION DRAINAGE PLANS

I

I

WRC has completed over 50 storm runoff management plans for a number of

clients in the private sector, Specific tasks included a detailed hydrology

study to determine rainfall/runoff or snowmelt/runoff relationships for vari-

ous frequency storms and snowpacks, conducted detailed hydraulic analyses to

identify existing and potential drainage problems, formulated a drainage plan

to alleviate existing and potential drainage problems, and determined the

construction costs for the proposed improvements.

I

I

I

A partial list of clients for such services include: Perl-Mack Companies;

Sanford Homes, Inc.; Mally Corporation; Lafayette South, Ltd.; D.
