GLENWOOD SPGS, COLD April 11, 1975 Mr. Bill DeGroot Urban Drainage & Flood Control District Sileo Oil Building 181 East 56th Avenue Denver, Colorado 80216 Re: Sanderson & Weir Gulch - Flood Hazard Maps Frasier & Gingery Job No. 208.20 Dear Bill: This letter is to confirm our discussion of April 7, 1975 concerning the flood plains we have shown on the flood hazard maps for the City of Denver on Sanderson and Weir Gulches. As I indicated, we have shown the.JOO-year flood plain as being that area which we envision to be susceptible to flooding. The flood plain area outlined on the map reflects both sheet flooding which will exist along streets to which flood waters are diverted as well as those areas adjoining the Gulch which will be under water as a result of high water levels within the drainageway. You will note an inconsistency in the top width of the flood plain on the plan portion of the drawings when you plot the flood profile elevation in the cross sections provided with the flood plain maps. Islands which could exist within the 100-year flood plain area have not been delineated. In these portions of the flood plain where this situation exists, sheet flooding depths are shallow and indeterminant to the extent of accurately locating the island areas.
