L Q N WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled "Flood Hazard Identification Report, Gregory (Eureka) Gulch and Nevada Gulch, Central City, Colorado," dated February, 1987, has been prepared by the Colorado Wa~er Conservation Board at the request of the City of Central; and WHEREAS, said report de6cribes and outlines detailed floodplain information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels or basins of Gregory (Eureka) Gulch and Nevada Gulch within the City of Central; and WHEREAS, the City of Central has requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and approve the -floodplain areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; and WHEREAS, Section Statutes. requires the assist ib\th~'preventi6n and 37-60-106 (I) (c). ColoradO Revised Colorado Water Conservation Board to of floods and flood damages therefrom; WHEREAS. Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111. Colorado Revised Statutes. provide that such legislative bodies of local juriSdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1){c), ColoradO Revised Statutes, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to make such designations available to legislative bodies of local juriSdictions; and WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Wa ter Conserva t ion Board that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those areas inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flOOd) as described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in said report; 3539E \ \
