Again, the diamonds represent homes or apartments with reported damage. <br />The map also shows Federal Emergency ManagementAgency (FEMA) National Flood <br />Insurance Map information (the zone boundaries). FEMA provides Flood Insurance <br />Rate Maps.(FIRMI. from which the zone information on this map is taken. The map~ <br />show low to high risk zones for flooding. Zone A is an area of high risk, Zone B is <br />an area of moderate risk and Zone C is an area of low risk in this map. Notice no <br />reports of damage exist in the high risk or A Zone. This shoWs the importance of <br />flood preparedness (e.g. flood insurance, sb"uctural mitigation) even for peop~ who <br />do not live in the flood plain.
