<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Turning alarm notification on and off <br />Selecting Tasks>Notify On turns notification on and off for the whole STORM Watch system, If you <br />turn notification off for the system, no notifieation will be initiated, regardless of individual sensor <br />notification criteria, Alarms processing will not be affeeted, <br /> <br />To seleetively control notification, use the Sensor Definitions window to enable and disable <br />notification for a specifie sensor or for a specific alarm, <br /> <br />Turning Alarm Sounds on and off <br /> <br />STORM Wateh can play .wav files to provide audible notification that an alarm or high priority NWS <br />Message (MWW lnterfaee only) has been reeeived, <br /> <br />For STORM Wateh Alarms, .wav files are played as part of notification, and are disabled if notification <br />is turned off, Different sound files are available for 'A' (high) and 'B' (low) priority alarms, <br /> <br />Once triggered, an Alarm .wav file will play repetitively for a fixed time period and then reset itself, if <br />there is no user intervention, The time period is set separatey for the 'A' and 'B' alarms in the <br />System Parameters dialog, in the Alarm Messages frame. If the play time is set to 0, the audible <br />notification will be disabled without affeeting other aspeets of notification, For audible NWS Message <br />notifications, the unattended run time for the sound is fixed at three minutes, <br /> <br />To silenee an audible Alarm notifieation, you can press F12, as long as the map has the foeus. You <br />can also silenee a notifieation by opening the Alarms Log, sueh as by right c1ieking an alarm ton, If <br />the Alarm Log is already open, there is a Silence button on lower part of the dialog that also can be <br />used, <br /> <br />When STORM Watch is direeted to playa sound, it looks for a speeifie ,way file in the application <br />direetory, The files are "SWAlarmAwav, SWAlarmB.wav, and SWNwsMsgAwav (for the MWW <br />interfaee), There are two other ,way files included in the distribution: SWSound4.wav and <br />SWSound5.wav, You ean use one of these, or any other ,way file you wish, instead of the default <br />sound, Make a copy of the desired .wav file, rename it to the target file name, and plaee it in the <br />application direetory. <br /> <br />gote: Always use one o(the STORM Watch methods to silence an audible notification, Jfyou try <br />to kill the sound by ending STORM Watch, you will be disappointed. The sound process runs <br />independently and l-vill continue to annoy you long after STORM Watch is gone. If/his happens, <br />restart STORM Watch and cancel the soundji'om the application, <br /> <br />Turning rain display on and off <br />Seleeting Tasks>Rain Display On toggles rain displays on and off, Data colleetion, alarms, and <br />alarms notifieation are not affeeted by this ehoice, <br /> <br />When rain display is turned off, neither the rain overlays nor numerie rain accumulations are <br />displayed on the map, <br /> <br />Turning area rain averaging on and off <br />Select Tasks>Area Rain Averaging to enable internal processing of rainfall into time series data for <br />the overlay display, <br /> <br />21 <br />
