.

.

.

When Rain Display is turned on current rainfall is displayed as a eolor overlay on the map, The
Legend eontains rain intensity scaling as well as other information, For addtional information about
the rain overlay, read about the map display of rainfall intensity. Previous images can be replayed in
rapid suecession to traek storm development and movement. The reattime operational nature of
STORM Wateh allows users to see he aceumulating rain data through a sliding time window. The
duration, or rain period, of that window- from a few minutes to several days- is set by the user. The
update frequency of the data displayed, called the proeess interval, is also set by the LSer (see
System Parameters),

As rain data are received, the sensor totals are updated individually by adding the new rain amount to
the total for the eurrent time interval. At the next processing interval, the rain totals for the last rain
period length of time are calculated, resulting in a new overlay and new sensor totals, The new
overlay and totals drop aeeumulated amounts from the older processing interval, and include the data
from the latest proeessing interval.

Other hands-off display information
Shapes and colors show sensor statuses in the selected Sensor Group on the map:

. Green dot means the sensor is active,

. Red or yellow dot means a sensor is registering an alarm state,

. Red or yellow starburst shape indieates a pending alarm at the site (notfication on,
unaeknowledged),

. Yellow cheek means the sensor has not been heard from within a usel'speeified time,

. White X-ed box means the sensor has been taken out of serviee,

.

An extra-large symbol is shown for sensors that transmitted during the current
proeess interval.

.

Sound (a beep or bell) as an indieator of ineoming data can be turned on and off with
Sound,

Site description
Move the mouse over a site to view a label with the site name and the sensor ID for the sensor group
being displayed, If the SEnsor group All Sites is checked just the site name appears and either the
site names or the numerie I D are displayed instead of data,

11
