<br />" . <br />. <br /> <br />\- , <br /> <br />. <br /> <br /> <br />I q '18 <-v.,~ U,,\, <lSD~_ <br /> <br />Federal Emergency Management Agency <br />Washington, D,C. 20472 <br /> <br />CERTIFIED MAIL <br />RETURN RECEIPT REQUESTED <br /> <br />N REPLY REFER TO: <br />Case No,: 99'08-060P <br /> <br />The Honorable Wellington Webb <br />Mayor, City and County of Denver <br />1437 Bannoek Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80202 <br /> <br />Community: City and County of Denver, <br />Colorado <br />Community No,: 080046 <br />Panel Affeeted: 0019 E <br />Effective Date of FE B 1 2 199 <br />This Revision: 9 <br /> <br />102-I-A-C <br /> <br />Dear Mayor Webb: <br /> <br />This responds to a request that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) revise the effective <br />Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) and Flood Insurance Study (FIS) report for your community in <br />accordance with Part 65 of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) regulations, In a letter dated <br />November 9, 1998, Mr. Nick Sklfalides, Deputy Manager, Wastewater Management Division, Deparnnent <br />of Public Works, City and County of Denver, requested that FEMA revise the FIRM and FIS report to <br />show the effects of revised topographie information as a result of natural ehanges in the Cherry Creek <br />channel from just downstream of South Holly Street to approximately 1,300 feet upstream of South Monaco <br />Street Parkway, <br /> <br />All data required to complete our review of this request were submitted with letters from Mr. Peter L. <br />Nelson, P,E" Project Manager, Sellards & Grigg, Inc, , and Mr, Skifalides, <br /> <br />We have eompleted our review of the submitted data and the flood data shown on the effeetive FIRM and <br />FIS report, We have revised the FIRM and FIS report to modify the elevations and floodplain boundary <br />delineations of the flood having a I-percent chance of being equaled or exceeded in any given year (base <br />flood) along the revised reach of Cherry Creek from just upstream of South Holly Street to just downstream <br />of South Monaco Street Parkway, As a result of the modifications, the base flood elevations (BFEs) for <br />the revised reach increased in some areas and decreased in other areas, and the width of the Special Flood <br />Hazard Area (SFHA), the area that would be inundated by the base flood, increased in some areas and <br />decreased in other areas. The increases in BFE and SFHA width are a result of natural changes in the <br />Cherry Creek channel. The modifications are shown on the enclosed annotated copy of FIRM <br />Panel(s) 0019 E and Profile Panel(s) lOP, This Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) hereby revises the <br />above, referenced panel(s) of the effective FIRM and the affected portions of the FIS report, both dated <br />September 7, 1998, <br /> <br />The modifications are effective as of the date shown above, The map panel(s) as listed above and as <br />modified by this letter will be used for all flood insurance policies and renewals issued for your community, <br /> <br />RECEIVED <br />FEB 2 6 1999 <br /> <br />Cot....do Watar <br />Conservation Board <br />
