RES 0 LUT I ON

WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled
"Floodplain Information Report, st. Vrain Canyon Upstream
of Lyons, Boulder County, Colorado," dated October 1978, has
been prepared by Camp Dresser & McKee Inc. at the request of
Boulder County and the Colorado water Conservation Board; and

~VHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the
floodplain data and information for the storm and floodwater
runoff channels or basins of the study area commencing at
station 7+00; and

WHEREAS, the Board of county Commissioners of
Boulder County has requested the Colorado Water Conservation
Board to designate and approve the floodplain areas as set
forth in the aforesaid report; and

WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised
Statutes 1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation
Board to assist in the prevention of floods and flood damages
therefrom, and '

WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado
Revised Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies
of local jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for
land uses on or along any storm or floodwater runoff channel
or basin only after designation and approval by the Colorado
Water Conservation Board; and

WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c), Colorado Revised
Statutes 1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board
to designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels
-1 or basins and to make such designations available to legislative
! bodies of local jurisdictions, and

WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said
report and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water
Conservation Board that the Board designate and approve as
floodplain areas those areas inundated by a 100-year flood
(intermediate regional flood) as described by the floodwater
surface elevations and profiles in said report;
