Vrain Canyon Upstream <br />of Lyons, Boulder County, Colorado," dated October 1978, has <br />been prepared by Camp Dresser & McKee Inc. at the request of <br />Boulder County and the Colorado water Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />~VHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the <br />floodplain data and information for the storm and floodwater <br />runoff channels or basins of the study area commencing at <br />station 7+00; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Board of county Commissioners of <br />Boulder County has requested the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board to designate and approve the floodplain areas as set <br />forth in the aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board to assist in the prevention of floods and flood damages <br />therefrom, and ' <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado <br />Revised Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies <br />of local jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for <br />land uses on or along any storm or floodwater runoff channel <br />or basin only after designation and approval by the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c), Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />to designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels <br />-1 or basins and to make such designations available to legislative <br />! bodies of local jurisdictions, and <br />, <br />J <br /> <br />i <br />) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said <br />report and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board that the Board designate and approve as <br />floodplain areas those areas inundated by a 100-year flood <br />(intermediate regional flood) as described by the floodwater <br />surface elevations and profiles in said report; <br /> <br />) <br />
