<br />which are otherwise established or available under this <br />title for purposes of the flood insurance program, <br />protection against damage and loss resulting from <br />mudslides that are caused by accumulations of water on <br />or under the ground. <br /> <br />(g) 12 Repealed <br /> <br />CHAPTER I--THE NATIONAL FLOOD INSURANCE PROGRAM <br /> <br />BASIe AUTHORITY <br /> <br />Sec. 1304. (a) To carry out the purposes of this <br />title, the Director of the Federal Emergency Management <br />Agency is authorized to establish and carry out a <br />national flood insurance program which will enable <br />interested persons to purchase insurance against loss <br />resulting from physical damage to or loss of real <br />property or personal property related thereto arising <br />from any flood occurring in the United States. <br /> <br />(b) 13 ADDITIONAL eOVERAGE FOR COMPLIANCE WITH LAND USE AND <br />COmROL ~~s.--The national flood insurance program <br />established pursuant to subsection (a) shall enable the <br />purchase of insurance to cover the cost of compliance <br />with land use and control measures established under <br />section 1361 for-- <br /> <br />(1) properties that are repeti ti ve loss structures; <br /> <br />(2) properties that have flood damage in which the <br />cost of repairs equals or exceeds 50 percent of the <br />value of the structure at the time of the flood event; <br />and <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />12Sec. 552, National Flood Insurance Reform Act of 1994, <br />Public Law 103-325, approved September 23, 1994, <br />repealed the findings provision related to the erosion- <br />threatened structures program. <br /> <br />13Sec. 555, National Flood Insurance Reform Act of 1994, <br />Public Law 103-325, approved September 23, 1994, <br />redesignated subsection (b) as subsection (c) and added <br />a new subsection (b). The provisions shall apply only <br />to properties that sustain flood-related damage after <br />the date of enactment of this Act. <br /> <br />21 <br /> <br />42 use <br />4011 <br />
