<br />FPR 253 <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />721 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />March 14, .1986 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a report entitled "Flood Insurance Study, Town of <br />Jamestown, Boulder Co.unty, Colorado," which includes. flood\llain <br />information and data for James Creek, Little James Creek, and <br />Unnamed Tributary to Little James Creek, dated January 18, 1983, <br />.has been prepared by Howard, Needles, Tammen & Bergendorff under <br />contract with the Federal Emergency Management Agency; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater <br />or basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />the floodplain <br />runoff channels <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Town of Jamestown has requested the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain <br />areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />requires the <br />prevention of <br /> <br />Section 37-60-106( 1), Colorado Revised Statutes, <br />Colorado Water Conservation Bo a rdt 0 assist in the <br />floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes, provide that such legislative bodies of local jurisdic- <br />tions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along <br />any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after desig- <br />nation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes, <br />directs the Colorado Water Conservat ion Board to designate and <br />approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to ~ake <br />such designations available to legislative bodies of. local <br />jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report and <br />does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water. Conservat ion Board <br />that the Board designate and. approve as floodplain areas those <br />areas inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) <br />as described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in <br />said report; <br />
