Federal Emergency Management Agency
Washington, D.C. 20472
OCT 1 51998

IN REPLY REFER TO eASE NO,\&~:P8:46~A ~

eommunity: Chaffee County, eoIorado I
Community No,: 080269
Map Panel Affected: 0375 B and 0400 B
Map Effective Date: March 4, 1987

LETTER OF MAP AMENDMENT
218-70-RS

We reviewed a request dated September 21, 1998, for a Letter of Map Amendment. All required information for this
request was received on September 23, 1998. Using the information submitted and the effective National Flood
Insurance Program (NFIP) map, we determined portions of the property described below are in a Special Flood
Hazard Area (SFHA), the area that would be inundated by the flood having a l'-percent chance of being equaled or
exceeded in any given year (base flood); however, the westerly residence structure on the property is not in the SFHA.

Property Description: A portion of Section 22, Township 50 North, Range 8 East, New Mexico Principal
Meridian, as described in the Deed of Trust recorded as Reception No. 293335. in
the Office of the Recorder, Chaffee County. Colorado

Street Address: 10550 West County Road 190

Flooding Source: Arkansas River

This letter amends the above-referenced NFIP map to remove the structure from the SFHA. The structure is now
in Zone X (unshaded), an area of minimal flooding outside the SFHA. Flood insurance coverage for the structure
may be available under a low-cost policy (see enclosed document). Because portions of the property remain in the
SFHA, any future construction or substantial improvement on the property remains subject to Federal, State. and local
regulations for floodplain management.

The enclosed document provides additional information about Letters of Map Amendment. If you have any questions
about this letter, please contact Ms. Sally P. Magee of our staff in Washington, De, either by telephone at
(202) 646.8242 or by facsimile at (202) 646-4596.

Sincerely.

,

'\~~.
