<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />Purpose and Scope <br /> <br />This Floodplain Mapping Report was prepared to provide documentation for the <br />approximate and detailed 100-year floodplain boundaries shown on the Elbert County <br />floodplain maps developed by the USGS in 1981. This report provides a user-friendly <br />format of the information provided by the USGS with the floodplain maps, and includes a <br />description of how this information can be used by the county to implement their <br />floodplain regulations. <br /> <br />This report includes: <br /> <br />1. The purpose and scope of the report <br /> <br />2. Study area description including information on the community, the watershed, any <br />known flooding history/problems, and previous studies and projects. <br /> <br />3. Description of the maps and aerial photography used for the initial mapping project <br /> <br />4. Description of hydrologic and hydraulic information; and <br /> <br />5. Indexes and floodplain maps for the county. <br /> <br />1 <br />
