Logan County, Colorado, Approximate 100-Year <br />Flood Boundaries from Sterling to Atwood. Colorado," dated <br />September, 1990, has been prepared by the U.S. Army Corps of <br />Engineers, Omaha District, at the request of the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board in cooperation with Logan County, Colorado; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report ir:lcludes approximate floodplain <br />information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels on the <br />South Platte River for the stream reach beginning at cross- <br />sect ion 24940, thence extend in!} ups tream 5.1 mi les, which are <br />the limits-of-study; and ' <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Couni:Y Commissioners of Logan County <br />has requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to <br />designate and approve the floodplain areas as set forth in the <br />aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section <br />Statutes, requires the <br />assist in the prevention <br />and <br /> <br />37-60-106(l) (c). Colorado Revised <br />Coloraoo Water Conservation Board to <br />of floods and flood damages therefrom; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes, provide that such legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on <br />or along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only <br />after designation and approval by the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(l)(c), Colorado Revised <br />Statutes, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to <br />designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or <br />basins and to make such designations available to legislative <br />bodies of local juriSdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report <br />and finds that it meets all the applicable requirements for <br />designation as approximate floodplain information under the <br />Board's "Rules and Regulations tor the Designation and Approval <br />of Floodplains and of Storm O( Floodwater Runoff Channels in <br />Colorado" (2 CCR 408-1): <br /> <br />3718E* <br />
