<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />ABSTRACT <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />A survey was conducted for evidence Df thunderstorm <br />heavy rainfalls occurring at elevatiDns above 7,500 <br />feet in the central Colorado Front Range foothills. <br />During the period Df April to September 1979 24 cases <br />Df thunderstorm rainfalls of 2.00 inches or mDre were <br />fDund in the Jefferson, Teller, Gilpin and Clear Creek <br />CDunties. Several cases of 4.00 inch or more rainfall <br />were fDund, These thunderstorm rainfalls appear tD be <br />at odds with other recent research which suggests the <br />lack Df heavy rains at elevations abDve 7,500 feet. <br />Three model thunderstDrm rainfall profiles are proposed <br />for cDnsideration by planners until definitive research <br />can be conducted. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />JDhn F.
