<br />-Ce <br />b <br /> <br />~ <br />~ <br />. <br /> <br />.~ <br />. <br /> <br />f <br />i~ <br /> <br />~ <br />. <br />~ <br /> <br />1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />This report presents the results of a feasibility level study of the <br />flood situation at the Cotter Corporation's Schwartzwalder Mine on Ralston <br /> <br />Creek near Golden, Colorado. Design recommendations for grading and flood, <br /> <br />control measures to protect the facilities from flooding and damage from <br /> <br />runoff resulting from a 100-year rainfall are presented. <br /> <br />The engineering services described in this report were authorized by <br /> <br />Cotter Corporation Purchase Order P-2926 dated November 3, 1981. The scope <br /> <br />of work was later expanded in accordance with McDermid Engineering Associates <br /> <br />letter proposal dated November 30, 1981. The services included a geotechnical <br /> <br />and groundwater study; the results of this study were presented in a separate <br /> <br />report by Geo-Hydro Consulting Inc. in January, 1982. <br /> <br />1-1 <br />
