some "permissible" failure which we felt was more than is practical in
field applications. Our experience with riprap construction practices
over the 1 ast year c1 early fndi cated a ,need for a safety factor in the
design of riprap channel linings.

As the accompanying volume of paper implies, this revision was a
major effort on the part of the Urban Drainage and Flood Control
District. I want to acknowledge the work by Alex Kingston in a$sisting
with the graphics contained in this report. I also wish to thank Cindy
Griego for her patience and perseverence in getting these changes typed
and printed. I also want to acknowledge two individuals that while
working with the District as student interns provided me with the data
analysis assistance needed to revi'se the Colorado Urban Hydrograph
procedures. Without the help of Rodney Hutcheson and Steve Hogoboom
this update would not have been possible.

Please keep as informed of any address changes so that we can keep
providing you with our Manual updates. Unless you do so, we have no way
of insuring the revisions will reach you. Also, if you have any
suggestions in how to improve our Manual, we ask you to send them to us.
