DESCRIPTION OF LOCATION
U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey standard disk stamped "5685.540
H 10 1926" and set in top of a concrete post projecting 6 inches
above ground, located 2 1/2 miles northwest along the Denver and
Rio Grande Western Railroad from the station at Montrose, 66 feet
southeast of milepost 0-354, 40 feet northeast of the track, and
level with the track.
U.S. Geological Survey standard cap stamped "5701.268" and
riveted on top of a 3 1/2 inch iron pipe projecting 1 foot above
ground, located 2 1/4 miles northwest along the Denver and Rio
Grande Western Railroad from the station at Montrose, 1,305
feet southeast of milepost 0-354, 268 feet southeast of the center
of a diagonal road crossing, 35 feet northeast of the centerline of
the track, and 4 feet higher than the track.
U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey standard disk stamped "A 323
1955" and set in top of the concrete footing of the northwest leg
of the airport beacon tower and flush with the ground, located 1
mile northwest along U.S. Highway 50 from Montrose, at Montrose
airport, 410.3 feet southeast of the southwest corner of the adminis-
tration building, 151 feet west of the southwest corner of the as-
phalt apron, 440 feet east of the centerline of Highway 50.
U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey standard disk stamped "5807.366
E 10 1926", located at the Montrose County courthouse, 70 feet
southeast of the centerline of South First Street, 21 feet northwest
of the northwest wall of the courthouse, 15 feet southwest of the
centerline of the steps to the front entrance, and in the west corner
of the bottom sandstone step.
