111-6

maximum stored volume of 284 acre-feet and a maximum water surface
rise of 2.8 feet. The minimum dam crest is, therefore, 2.8 feet above
the spillway crest, based on the current policy of zero freeboard
allowed for PMP type events. A preliminary design of the dam and
spillway was prepared and is presented in Volume II of this report
on Drawing No. HLP-2. The design includes an irrigation outlet for
the Harry Holmes Ditch.
The proposed improvements to Hidden Lake will reduce the maximum
water surface during the PMP type event to what the maximum water
surface for the 100 year storm event would be, with the current dam
and spillway configuration (elevation 5281.8). The improvements also
reduce the 100 year maximum water surface to the current normal maximum
water surface elevation 5280.5 (i.e. crest of the present spillway).
Therefore, the improvements to the dam and spillway will provide 100
year storm runoff protection to the existing houses along the south
shore, as well as increased protection during the rare PMP type storm
event.

I
I
I I
I
I
I
I
I
I'
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
