11-2

I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

The revised basin description, of which the Bates Lake and the

Clear Creek Planning Basins are a part, is defined by this study as

follows:

Bates Lake 1-01-4300-03
(Part of) A = 1.32 sq. mi.
Since this basin is actually two separate basins, i.e. Bates Lake
and Clear Creek Planning Basins, the remaining basin characteristics
have not been defined.
The total area included in this study is 4.92 square miles (3148
acres). The Hidden Lake Planning Basin comprises 3.08 square miles and
the Bates Lake Planning Basin comprises 0.74 square miles of the total

area.

There are two areas that have been evaluated in the early phases
of this study that were found not to be an integral part of either
planning basin and are essentially separate basins draining directly
into Clear Creek and are not included in the preliminary design for
Phase B. The easternmost of these two separate basins drains to
Federal Blvd. and/or into Clear Creek. The storm water from this area

does not converge into a major drainageway, but flows into Clear Creek
via various storm drains and swales.

The second separate basin lies between Sheridan Blvd. and Federal
Blvd. along the north bank of Clear Creek. The north boundary of this
separate basin is the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad tracks which,
throughout most of the reach, are on an embankment.

These two separate areas have been combined into the Clear Creek

Planning Basin, which comprises the remaining 1.10 square miles of

the total area (see Figure 11-2).
