No. 137 <br /> <br />) <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />) <br /> <br />May 18, 1979 <br />R ,E SOL U T 10 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a report entitled "Flood Insurance Study, <br />Town of Pierce, Colorado," which includes floodplain information, <br />and data for Spring Creek and Spring Creek ,OVerflow, dated <br />January, 1979, has been prepared by 'Gingery Associates, Inc., under <br />contract with the Federal Insurance Aaministration; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the flood- <br />plain data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff <br />channels or basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Town of pierce has requested the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board to designate'and approve the floodplain <br />areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106 (1)", ,Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in <br />the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado <br />Revised Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of <br />local jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses <br />on or along any strom or floodwater runoff channel or basin only <br />after designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board; and ' <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c), Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to <br />designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins <br />and to make such designations available to legislative bodies of <br />local jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />~mEREAS; the staff of the Board has reviewed said report <br />and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />that the" Board designate and approve 'as floodplain areas those areas <br />inundated by a 100-yearflood (intermediate regional flood) as <br />described'by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in said <br />report; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board in regular meeting assembled in Grand Junction, <br />Colorado, this 18th day of May, 1979, that it does hereby designate <br />and approve as floodplain areas those areas described as being <br />inundated by a 100-year flood as described by the floodwater surface <br />elevations and profiles in said report; and <br /> <br />i <br />! <br />
