FINAL REPORT - HYDROLOGIC ANALYSIS OF THE COOPER <br />SLOUGH WITHIN LARIMER COUNTY, COLORADO <br /> <br />Dear Rex & Bob: <br /> <br />The finn of Love & Associates, Inc. has completed the hydrological analysis of the Cooper <br />Slough watershed. This analysis was prepared in conjunction with the ongoing Limited Map <br />Maintena.'1ce Plan (L."v1NIP) study for Cooper Slough. This letter report explains how the peak <br />dischar!l:es for each storm ~vent of the LMNfP were determined. <br /> <br />HISTORY OF STUDY AREA <br /> <br />The engineedng firm of Simons, Li & Associates, fuc. prepared a "Master Drainageway <br />Implementation Plan" (plan) for the City of Fort Collins in 1987. The Plan included an <br />hydrological analysis (SWMlvf) and an hydraulic analysis (HEC-2) of the Cooper Slou,gh basin. <br /> <br />fu1991 the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation (USBR) prepared a LMMP study for Boxelder Creek. <br />The hydrological analysis stated that runoff from various storm events overtop U.S. Interstate 25 <br />(1-25) at several locations and flows into the Cooper Slough watershed, These overflows were <br />lIot defined at the time the 1987 Simons & Li hydrologic aTIaIysis was prepared. <br /> <br />AVAILABLE DATA <br /> <br />At a special meeting in Fort Collins between FEMA, the City of Fort Collins, Larimer County, <br />and our linn, it was decked that Love & Associates, Inc. would use the 1987 Simons & Li <br />SWMM model as the basis for the hydrological analysis for the l.MMP study. <br />
