The channel upstream is wide and shallow with a <br /> <br />relatively fl at longitudinal slope, T:tl.e channel and channel <br />overbanks con,sist of dense natural grasses approxima1:ely 18"- <br />24" in height. <br /> <br />C:ooper Slough at S'~ate Highway 14 (Mulberry St%~eet) . <br /> <br />Two 48" diame!ter cmp culverts cross Stat,e Highway 14, the <br />channel upstream is wide and uniform at: a relatively flat <br />slope. Ground cover consist of dense natural grasses 18"-24" <br />in height in the overbank areas with higher grasses and <br />cattails in the main channel bottom (approximately 36" in <br />height). The channel downstream of State Highway 14 is wide, <br />shallow and relatively undefined with simila.r ground covering. <br /> <br />Cooper Slough Confluence with Box EldElr Crel~k. <br /> <br />Cooper Slough confluences with Box Elder Creek approximately <br />one mile south of State Highway 14 just upstream of Canal <br />Dri ve, Drainage from Cooper Slough is discharged into Box <br />Elder Creek from a 36" RCP culvert just: upstream of the <br />confluence. <br /> <br />Box Elder Overflow Locations, <br /> <br />One of the Bo:( Elder Creek overflows into the Cooper Slough <br />drainage basiil. is at the Interstate 25 underpass for the <br />Colorado and :;outhern Railroad, approximat:ely one-half mile <br />north of ColClrado Highway 14. The railroad crossing is <br />trapezoidal in section with a bottom width of approximately <br />100 feet and 1:1 concrete paved side slopes. It appears that <br />the flow through this opening ...rould travel overland in a <br />southwesterly direction to the Cooper Sloug'h/State Highway 14 <br />crossing. <br />
