FLOOD PLAIN MANAGEMENT STUDY TI),./N OF SILT COLORADO INTRODUCTION Section 37-60-106(1)(c), Colorado Re~ised Statutes, authorizes the ColoradO Water Conser~ation Board "to des ignate and appro~e storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins, and to ~ake such designations a~ailable to legislative bodies of cities and incorporated towns, to county planning commissions, and to boards of adjustment of cities, incorporated towns, and counties of this state." The 30ard pro~ides assistance to local go~ernments in de~elopment and adoption of effecti~e floodplain ordinances. 1n addition. the Board will pro~ide technical assistance to local entities during the performance of floodplain information studies within Colorado. Presently, direct financial assistance for the ~rformance of floodplain studies is no longer a~ai lable from the board. The CWCB and the Soil Conservation Service entered into a Joint Coordination Agreement for flOOd hazard analyses in January 1972 (revised November 197a).
