Most USDA programs require an alternative treatment plan to <br />be economically feasible in order to qualify for federal funding. Other <br />sources of financing may not require this; therefore, the alternative <br />tredtment plans dre incl uded herei n, whether or not the ~lan was found <br />econom1callyfeasible. <br /> <br />Telephone 235-4830 <br /> <br />The National Flood Insurance Program uses the floodway concept in <br />it's rate studies for communities participating in the regular phase of <br /> <br />the programs. <br />FlOOd Warning and Flood Forecasting Systems <br />The National Oceanic and Atmospheric ~dministration (NOAA) through <br />its' National Weather Service (NWS),rnaintainsyear-aroundsurvei llanceof <br /> <br />Vleather and flood conditions. ~lly weather forecasts are issued through <br />the NWS anrl disseminated by radio and television stat10ns. A general <br /> <br />Future Without Project Condition <br />If no structural flood control improvements were ~pplied within the <br />study area, flooding in the future Should continue very similar to what <br />has happened in the past.
