" I COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD ,102 Columbine Building 1845 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 March 17, 1976 RES 0' LV T 10 N ) WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled "Flood Hazard Information, Yampa River and Tributaries, Steamboat Springs, Colorado,"dated February, 1976, has, been prepared by the U. S, Army Corps of Engineers, Sacramento District, at the request'of the Routt County Regional Planning Commission and the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and ' ' WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain data and information ,for the storm cmdfloodwater-rurtoff channels or basins of the study area; and WHEREAS, the City of Stearrlboat Springs has requested the , Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and approve the flood- plain areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; and ,WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) ,Colorado Revised Statutes 1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in the pre- vention of, floods and flood damages therefrom; and ' ,WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised 'Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local juris- dictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on.or along, any storm or floodwater runoff channel or ,basin only after designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and . WHEREAS, Section 37-60-l06(l)(c); Colorado Revised Statutes 1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and approve storm or .floodwater runoff channels or basins and to make such designations available to ,legislative bodies of local jurisdictions; and WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board that the board designate'ahd approve as floodplain areas those areas inundated by a lOO-year flood (intermediate regional flood),as described by the '-'-.-"'floo.dwa tel' -surface-elevat-ions c,md-"prof-Hes--i n-sa-i-d'-report.; ----,-----, " NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water Conser- vation Board in regular meeting assembled in Denver, Colorado, this 17th day of March, 1976 that it does hereby designate and approve as floodplaih areas those areas described as being inundated by a lOD-year flood asset forth in said report; and )
