<br />flood. Damages start on the South Bank of the Rio Grande with about a l7-year <br />flow, and on the North Bank with about a l7-year flow. Also, intangible <br />damages, such as loss of life, discruption of community services and increased <br />health risks could occur as a result of flooding. Table 5 displays single <br />occurrence damages that could be expected for SPF, 100-, and 50-year levels of <br />flooding. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />E. Average Annual Dama~es: Existing average annual flood inundation <br />damages from the Rio Grande within the two economic reaches is $1,093,000. <br />Because of the generally static conditions within the study area, particularly <br />in the flood plain, future growth is not expected to be significant. <br /> <br />.^ <br />
