Review experience in the use of the 1986 Guidelines on Design Floods for Dams. <br />. Review the latest developments in Australia and overseas in design flood practices, <br />. Prepare a Position Paper for the ANCOLD AGM <br />. Make a recommendation as to whether a revision of the Guidelines is appropriate at this <br />time. <br />. If a revision is seen to be appropriate, propose terms of reference for the revision, The <br />terms would, among other things, establish the scale and depth of a revision. <br /> <br />Phase 2. <br />Produce revised guidelines to terms of reference as endorsed by ANCOLD. <br /> <br />The recommendation was for a full revision to integrate risk assessment and changes in <br />hydrology and this was endorsed. <br /> <br />ii ANCOLD Guidelines on Selection of an Acceptable flood Capacity for Dams <br />
