<br />Floodplain <br />Resol.No. 173 <br /> <br />) <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Str,eet <br />Denver, colorado 80203 <br /> <br />February II, 1981 <br /> <br />RES 0 L U T ION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled "Flood- <br />plain Information and Flood Control & Drainage Plan, Dry Creek <br />No.1," dated April, 1980, has been prepared by Water Resources <br />Consultants, Inc., at the request of Boulder County and the <br />City of Longmont, Colorado; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels <br />or basins of the study area; apd <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Longmpnt and Boulder County have re- <br />quested the Colorado Water Conpervation Board to designate and <br />approve the floodplain areas.ap set forth in the aforesaid <br />report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, requires the Colorado Wa>:er Conservation Board to assist <br />in the prevention of floods anJ flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-20:J. and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions may provide zonipg regulations for land uses <br />on or along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin <br />only after designation and app~oval by the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to desig- <br />nate and approve storm or flooowater runoff channels or basins <br />and to make such designations 3vailable to legislative bodies <br />of local jurisdictio~s; and . <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report and <br />does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those <br />areas inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional' <br />flood) as described by the floodwater surface elevations and <br />profiles in said report; <br />
