<br />City of Rifle Flood HCUJard Mitigation Plan <br /> <br />o The Floodplain <br /> <br />- TheNFIP's Flood Insurance Rate Maps <br />(FIRM's) for the City of Rifle were de- <br />termined by the CWCB to be adequate. <br />Plans were good, and the CWCB would <br />be available to help .the City in design, <br />review and inspection of flood control <br />measures <br />- The SCS can evaluate the drainage ba- <br />sin to see ifthe possibilities ofimprov- <br />ing the vegetation and using dams and <br />retention devices to eliminate flooding <br />problems exist. The SCS can also pro- <br />vide assistance to agricultural produc- <br />ers in mitigating for flood damages to <br />agricultural facilities. Additionally <br />they can provide technical assistance to <br />municipalities in the design offaci1ities <br />and trails, to enhance their flood miti- <br />gation characteristics. <br />The "ACTION ITEMS" on the previous page <br />were derived from the June 17th meeting. <br /> <br />11 <br />
