(2) ALIGNHENT "B":

This alignment was the approximate -runoff path prior tD the subdivic.ing of
the area. By constrccting improvements along this alignment, the extensive
f loading above and bE,lo" 13th Place "auld be. eliminated.

.Al_ternatel: Constn.ct a closed cOIlduit from about 600 feet north of Align-
ment "A", down Orchard Street to Aligu.'lwnt 'IIAII. This proposed construction
',ould include an improved inlet (6' x 6' CBC) ai:d 600' of 48" Rep.

Alternate 2: Constn.ct a trapezoidal channr"l from ,lest of Orchard, East to
Camp George Hest and street crossing clllverts, This proposed channE.l "auld
include rip rap or drop structures and have a 8' bottom with 2:1 side slopes.
The two stre;'t crossing culverts at Orchard Street and Nile Street wOllld be
10' x 4' GBC's.

Alternate 3:
from West of
channel dmm

Constnct a 54" CSP "ith a 6' x 6' CBC improved inlet
Orchard Street to Camp George \Jest and dayli.ght into a
to Aligrment "AIf.

structure
trapezoidal

,Uternate 4: Do notling, as this ar:ea is rezoned and platted, these improve-
ments could be accomr:lished by the land o"ner to utilize the entire o"nership.

(3) ALIGNHENT "C":

This is a total diversion of the ruIloff from South Table Mountain from Hest
to East along the base of the mountain.

,\lternatel: Construct a trapezoidal earth channel along the North boundary
of the subdivided area, through Camp George I{est to Alignment "A". This
alternate has an additional cost of a closed conduit for 670 feet in con-
junction with the channel construction along this alignment due to the insta-
bility of the face of the mountain.

This alignment would have environmental impacts which this report ,,-,ill not
investigate. The stability of the slope. of South Table Mountain is question-
able generally speaking, and a thorough geological investigation "auld be
necessary for this alternate if selectee.. .

Alternate 2: Do nothing

(4) ALIGNMENT "D":

The installation of detention ponds at various locations "ithin the dJ:ainage
basin is a possible solution. The use of detention ponds ",hich \wuld have a
controlled outfall rate would be advantEl.geous in this basin. As computed in
the Hydrology Section, the storage volume required for a particulacc storm
is as follows:

24
