<br />SECTION V <br /> <br />ALTERNATE SOLUTIONS <br /> <br />The report has the responsibility to define and stu~y the impact of alternate <br />solutions to the present and future floo::ing problems. <br /> <br />The following list is the alternate solutions '-'lhich have been formJ.lated: <br /> <br />1. The individual maintenance of the exis ting channel Ivi th t'1.€ <br />County responsible for the maintena.nce of the street crossings. <br /> <br />2. The improvement of the natural drainage-'1vay bet"\.veen the existing <br />houses and street cross culverts to be improved to a IOO-year storm <br />capacity. <br /> <br />3. The improvement of the drainage-way and street: cross culverts to <br />a storm less than the IOO-year capacity. There are legal questions <br />which need to be resolved with this solution. <br /> <br />4. The installation of a closed conduit along t.hE! entire lengtCi of <br />drainage-Hay. <br /> <br />5. The utilization of detention ponding in the areas above the <br />drainage-way. <br /> <br />6. Do nothing or use of Flood Plain Zoning. <br /> <br />A. i\.t\iALYZING THE PRO"OSED ALTERNATES <br /> <br />The analysis of the aLternate solution includes (1) the selection of the <br />t.ype of facility, (2) facility sizing, and (3) estimated construct.ion costs. <br /> <br />The conceptual design" are to be based on a 100-year design storm flood as <br />required 'vithin the current Jefferson County Subdivision Regulations. <br /> <br />B.
