Only the station description is presented for
miscellaneous sites.
The station description contains .information concerning the loca-
tion, datum, t.ype of gage, and drainage area. The method used to de-
termine the stage during the flood period, the detinition of the stage-
discharge relation. and the conditions that might ha"e affected that
relation are explained. The maximnm stage and (or) discharge at
eaeh site are 1!i\~en for the flood period ill.T;me 1965, fOl' the indicated
period of discharge record, and for floods prior to the period of record.
Remarks Oil regulation and di,'ersions and other pertinent information
are included where applicable.
Tables of stages and discharges at. indicated times arc included so
that these data and the daily mean discharges before and after
the detailed period can be used to define both stage and discharge
hydrogmphs.

indirect measurements of the peak flow hy the slope-area method, com-
putations of rlow through contractions such as bridges and cllh-erts
and oyer dams and road embankments, or a combination of these
methods. ~\t miscellaneous sites where high rltlloft' oceurred, the peak
discharges were determined by indirect measurements. .A total of
2~ in(lirect measurements were made; 12 at acti\.e or discontinued
g'ag-ing stations and Hi at miscellaneolls sites.

EXPLAXATION OF DATA

J)(.tailed Hood information, ill addition to that in the regular allllual
I'('ports of the Geological ~l1n.e'y, is eOlllpiled lwre for use in future
hydraulic and h'ydrolo~i(" studies.
