The mapping was prepared by Air Pnoto Surveys of Grand Junction,
Colorado. The mappingfurnish..d tsat 0 scale of l"_2QO', thccontour
interval is2feet.

The flood flow estimates developed in this report for the upper end of the
Roaring Fork River ~tudy match the flood flow estimates developed for the
lower end of the above mentioned study, when the additional flows from the
Fryingpan River are considered.

Flfty-fivedi9ltized cross sections on the Roarln9 Fork and Fryin gpanRivers
were ~elected under the supervi~lon of the ColoradO Water Conservation Board.
These cros~ sections are shown on the mapping and are desl9nated by Integer
numbers. liright-Mdaughl in Engineers supplemented the dlgitized cross ~ections
with 9 additional cross sections. These cross sections are shown on the
mapping and are designated by decimal numbers. Becauseboththedigltlzed
and supplemental Cross sections indicated water surface elevations rather
than true channel bottom elevations, the cros~ sections were corrected by
field measurement methods. All bridges were also field measured (Ref. II).

The digitized cross sections were compared to the topographic mapping and were
field checked.
