The Cw::B is the state agency that coordinates all floodplain <br />information studies. The information presented in this (aport was compared to <br />the technical analyses and report pre[,ldred by thQ SCS for the CWCB ~nder a <br />contract dated January 1972 and revised in November 1978. <br /> <br />The hydrology, develcpimnt activities, cross-sections and napping prepared <br />by the Soil Conservation Service and presented in the rcpo(t datod I\.ugust 1985 <br />(reference 2) are the basis for the revisions contained he(ein. <br /> <br />Section 37-60-106(1)(<:), Colorado Revised Stat~tes (CRS), a~thorizes the <br />CWCB "to designate and approve storm or flcx:x:lwater mooff channels or basins, <br />and co make s~dh designations available to legislative bodies of cities and <br />incorporated towml, to county planning cormUssions, and to boards of adjustment <br />of cities, incoq;orated towns, and counties of this State. n The C\;CB provides <br />aSllistance to local goverrunents in development and adoption of effective <br />floodplain ordinances.
