<br />FPR 237 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />721 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />May 3, 1985 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 .N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a report entitled "Flood Insurance Study, Town of <br />Green Mountain Falls, Colorado, El Paso and Teller Counties," <br />which includes floodplain information. and data for Fountain <br />Creek, dated December 19, 1984, has been prepared by Camp Dresser <br />& .McKee, Inc., under contract with the Federal Emergency Manage- <br />ment Agency; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels <br />or basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />-J <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Town of Green Mountain Falls has requested the <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and approve the <br />floodplain areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes, <br />requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in the <br />prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes, provide that such legislative bodies of local jurisdic- <br />tions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along <br />any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after desig- <br />nation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes, <br />directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and <br />approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to make <br />such designations available to legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report and <br />does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those <br />areas inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) <br />as described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in <br />said report; <br /> <br />128 <br />res/237 <br />
