COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD 721 State Centennial Building 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 May 3, 1985 RES 0 L UTI 0 .N WHEREAS, a report entitled "Flood Insurance Study, Town of Green Mountain Falls, Colorado, El Paso and Teller Counties," which includes floodplain information. and data for Fountain Creek, dated December 19, 1984, has been prepared by Camp Dresser & .McKee, Inc., under contract with the Federal Emergency Manage- ment Agency; and WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels or basins of the study area; and -J WHEREAS, the Town of Green Mountain Falls has requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; and WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised Statutes, provide that such legislative bodies of local jurisdic- tions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after desig- nation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to make such designations available to legislative bodies of local jurisdictions; and WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those areas inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) as described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in said report; 128 res/237
