D. Develop Display/Educational Materials

1) Review Historic Aerial Photographs
Review historic aerial photographs of the Roaring Fork and Fryingpan River
corridors from various sources. By comparative analysis, determine what changes
have taken place over time in streambed location, stream stability, riparian
vegetation and other elements of the river corridors. Develop displays using the
photographs to illustrate trends, changes, relationships and hazards.

2) Develop Computer Modeling
Develop a computer model of for evaluating the effects of stream stability
mitigation measures. Represent on the computer model the predicted effects of
various stream stability mitigation measures, including modeling the "after-flood"
floodplain, to demonstrate how recommended mitigation measures and the stream
channel they are designed to protect will fare in a 100-year or 500-year flood.

3) Develop Graphic Demonstration of River Flow
Develop a display illustrating the amount of water in the Roaring Fork River
under low flow conditions. The display would show the effects of various
diversions and return flows on river flows from the river's source to its
confluence with the Colorado River.

.....
