STATE OF COLORADO -.:--
Richard CJ. lamm, GovernDr

DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES

. DIVISION OF WILDLIFE

"'.ck R. Grieb, Director
6000 Broadway
O.nv.r, C~lor.do 80216 (825-1192)

July 15, 1979

To: Pitkin County Planners

Re: General Submittions 1979

From: Randy Cote , Colo. Div. of Wimdlife

Easement Acres
Dog control and
Suggest that as

fence height restrictions are a must.
much oak and sagebrush as possible be saved.

Aspen River Valley Ranch
Perhaps a fishing and or river acess agreement can be reached
at least on the Hwy 82 side of the Roaring Fork

Aspen Village
From a wildlife standpoint, this submission is far superior than
the last proposal that I saw. I am impressed by thier concern for the
wildlife that travels through and uses the property. The plan stated on
page 22(g) that the RS 30 portion. of the property is not included in the
application and that NO activity is proposed for those lands. I believe
that it would be an excellant opportunity for the people of Colorado
and_its wildlife to preserve forever this critical range and migraticn
corridor by means of deeded open space or whatever.
I also believe that the Village has in the ~t exhibited
excellant dog control measures and belie'fe that l.t will work in the future.

. .

DePARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCeS, Harris Sherman, Executive Director ~ WILDLIFE COMMISSION, Thomas Farley, Chairman
Sam Caudill, Vice Chairma:"l .
