A. New Development

l. Adequate elevation and anchoring of residences
(including mobile homes).
2. Floodproofed basements in residences.
3. Adequate elevation or floodproofing of nonresidences.
4. Substantial improvement compliance for existing
structures.
5. Development allowed in the floodway.
6. Drainage in subdivisions.
7. Flood loss reduction for development other than
buildings.
8. E.O. 11988 compliance for Federal construction.

For coastal areas only (in addition to 1-8, above):
9. Structures located landward of mean high tide.
lO. Adequate anchoring to pilings.
ll. Lowest floor free of obstructions or use of
breakaway walls.
l2. In V-zones: fill and mobile home prohibitions and
sand dunes and mangrove stand protection.
