Town <br />of Silverton and Unincorporated Areas of San 'Juan county. Colorado." <br />which includes floodplain information and data for the Animas River. <br />Mineral Creek and Cement Creek. dated March. 1978, has been pre- <br />pared by Camp Dresser & McKee. Inc.. under contract with the Federal <br />Insurance Administration; and . <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels or <br />basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Town of Silverton and the Board of County <br />Commissioners of San Juan County have requested the Colorado water <br />Conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain areas as <br />set forth in the aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS. section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973. requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in <br />the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado <br />Revised Statutes 1973. provide that such legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or <br />along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after <br />designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS. Section 37-60-106(1) (c). Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and <br />approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to make <br />such designations available to legislative bodies of local jurisdic- <br />tions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS. the staff of the Board has reviewed said report <br />and does hereby recommend to the ColoradQ Water Conservation Beard <br />that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those areas <br />inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) as des- <br />cribed by the floodwater surface elevations and prOfiles in said <br />report: <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board in regular meeting assembled in Montrose. Colo- <br />rado this 12th day of May. 1978, that it does hereby designate and <br />approve as floodplain areas those areas described as being inundated <br />by a 100-year flood as set forth in said report; and <br /> <br />) <br />
