As shown in <br />Figure 15.1, the maj ori ty of the 5.0 square mile watershed lies <br />east of Interstate 25. Flow in the stream is In a <br />southwesterly direction; it accumulates in several small <br />tributaries before consolidating into a sIngle channel just <br />prior to crossing under Interstate 25. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The highest elevation for the watershed is just over 7,500 <br />feet. The low poInt at the western outfall is 6,800 feet. <br />Slopes "ithin the basIn range from just over 8% at the higher <br />elevations to 3 to 4% in the flattest areas. Soils are <br />predominantly a loamy sand with rapid permeability. They are <br />hydrologically categorIzed as type "B" for the entire basin. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Development In this "atershed is primarIly residential. <br />Individual lots are large, ranging from 1 to 5 acres over much <br />of the basin. There Is a substantial amount of open space <br />throughout, part of which is attributed to the Woodmoor Golf <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br />
