<br />"\ <br />~ <br /> <br />Horsefly Creek <br />Uncompahgre River <br />Cimmaron River <br />Naturita Creek <br /> <br />Beaton Creek <br />Little Cimmaron River <br />Maverick Draw <br />Hamilton Creek <br /> <br />and other unnamed tributaries; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, floodplain information and data for Cedar Creek, <br />Montrose Arroyo, and Dry Cedar Creek is presented in a report <br />entitled "floodplain information and urban drainage report," <br />dated April, 1979, which was designated and approved by <br />Resolution No. 165,.. adopted December 2, 1980;. and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said new report describes and outlines the flood- <br />plain data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff <br />channels or basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Board <br />County has requested the <br />designate and approve the <br />aforesaid new report; and <br /> <br />of ,County Commissioners of Montrose <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board to <br />floodplain areas as ,set forth in the <br /> <br />WHEREAS. <br />1973, requires <br />the prevention <br /> <br />Section 37-60-l06( l) i Colorado Re:ll'ise,d Statutes <br />the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in <br />of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS. Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111. Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973. provide that such legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or <br />along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or' basin only after <br />designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c). Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973. directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate <br />and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to <br />make such designations available to legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the" Board of County Commissioners of Montrose <br />County has stated that it will regulate the approximate storm and <br />floodwater runoff channel-s' (Zone A) on a case-by-case basis sub-. <br />ject to a detailed hydrologic and hydraulic analysis by a profes- <br />sional engineer; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS. the staff of the Board has reviewed said revised <br />and new information and data and does hereby recommend to the <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board that the Board designate and <br />approve as floodplain areas those areas inundated by a 100-year <br />flood (intermediate regional flood) as described by the flood- <br />water surface elevations and profiles in said new report. and <br />further recommends that the floodplain designation for that <br /> <br />-2- <br />
