<br />The Big and Little Cimarron Rivers generally experience late summer <br />water shortages. <br /> <br />Gunnison River. Approximately 2000 acres located in District 62 are <br />irrigated by about 50 ditches originating on the Gunnison River or <br />the tributaries of South Beaver Creek, Willow Creek, Soap Creek, <br />Stueben Creek and Pine Creek. Among the largest of these are the <br />Frank Adams #2 Ditch (40 cfs), Cooper #2 Ditch (30 cfs), and Cooper <br />Ditch (20 cfs). These ditches all have their diversions on the <br />Gunnison River between Gunnison and Blue Mesa Reservoirs, with <br />original decrees dated 1905 and additional decrees dated 1941. <br /> <br />B.2.5 Municipal and Industrial Water Users <br /> <br />B.2.5.1 General <br /> <br />Municipal and industrial (M&I) water use is relatively small in the <br />study area in comparison to the total water use. The MU water and <br />wastewater treatment faci 1 it ies located in the study area are shown in <br />Figure B.S. <br /> <br />The primary M&I water suppliers within the study area are the <br />Project 7 Water Authority; the municipalities of Gunnison, Crested Butte, <br />Ouray and Ridgway; Mt. Crested Butte Water and Sanitation District; <br />Sky1and Metropolitan District; and the Lake City Area Water and <br />Sanitation District.
