<br />Tomichi Creek. More than 150 ditches serve approximately 16,600 <br />irrigated acres in the Tomichi Creek drainage, including Razor <br />Creek, Needle Creek, Marshall Creek, Hot Springs Creek, and Stubbs <br />Gulch. The largest of these ditches, all on Tomichi Creek, with <br />their respective approximate capacities are: Arch Ditch (130 cfs), <br />Biebel #1 and #2 Ditches (60 cfs), Pioneer Ditch (62 cfs), Owen <br />Redden Ditch (45 cfs), McCanne Ditch #2 (45 cfs), Gullet Tomichi <br />Ditch{45 cfs), and S. Davison and Co. Ditch (80 cfs). All of these <br />ditches have original adjudication dates of 1894, with additional <br />decrees dated 1943. The majority of the irrigated acreage lies in <br />the Tomichi Valley between Gunnison and Sargents. <br /> <br />Quartz Creek. More than 40 ditches in the Quartz Creek drainage <br />serve approximately 2500 irrigated acres north of Tomichi Creek from <br />Parlin to Pitkin. The major ditches in terms of their estimated <br />capacities are: Parlin Quartz Creek Ditch (22 cfs), Tornay Highline <br />Ditch (22 cfs), the Lockwood Mundell Ditch (18 cfs), and Chittenden <br />Ditch (27 cfs). The Lockwood Mundell Ditch has a priority date of <br />1904 for 10.6 cfs, with an additional decree for 40 cfs in 1943. <br />The others have adjudication dates no earlier than 1943. <br /> <br />CochetoDa Creek. The valleys of Cochetopa Creek have more than <br />80 ditches serving approximately 5700 irrigated acres located due <br />south of Parlin. The major ditches are in the Upper Cochetopa Valley <br />at the junctures of West Pass Creek, Los Pinos Creek, and Paul ine <br />Creek. These ditches and their estimated capacities are: Mesa <br />Ditch (75 cfs), Government Ditch (45 cfs), McDonough Ditch (35 cfs), <br />Smith ford 1/2 Ditch (42 cfs), and Perry Irrigation Ditch (24 cfs). <br />The Government and McDonough Ditches are on Los Pinos Creek, while <br />the others are on the Upper Cochetopa.
