<br /> <br />LOWER FOUNTAIN CREEK - Pueblo County, Colo~ado. It <br />flows th~ough a valley a~ea of bottomlands which a~e <br />vegetated with cottonwood, wi I low, salt ceda~, Russian <br />01 ive, va~ious fo~bs, and asso~ted g~asses and a~e flanked <br />by fa~mland and ~angeland. The study a~ea consists of 4 <br />sites fo~ a total of 6,500 feet (1.23 mi les) of st~eam. <br />This a~ea suffe~s f~om st~eambank e~osion du~ing floods. <br />Du~ing no~mal flows, the st~eam usually stays within the <br />confines of the existing b~aided ,channel.
