Coordination Team: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps), along with the <br />U,S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) and the four affected State fish and wildlife agencies <br />formed a Coordination Team to develop criteria, submit project plans, develop project priority <br />listings, enhance public awareness of the project, and resolve conflicts that may develop, Each <br />State provides initial screening and prioritization of its recommended acquisition and development <br />sites, as well as providing input into the development plans. and provides recommendations on <br />acquisition based on results of willing seller surveys. The Corps performs surveys of willing <br />sellers for potential acquisition sites, prepares all necessary approval documents, conducts <br />planning and design activities, and ensures that coordination and consultation are maintained with <br />the USFWS, the affected States, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Natural <br />Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), and other appropriate agencies. The USFWS works <br />with each State and the Corps to develop restoration projects and provides input on the evaluation <br />and monitoring of the success of the projects. The Coordination Team meets quarterly to discuss <br />current and future activities and priorities, funding, and other issues. <br /> <br />2 <br />
